The Portsmouth Chapter of the Southeastern Ohio Basketball Officials Association presented the 2016-2017 Northwest Lady Mohawks the Bill Newman Sportsmanship Award at this year's annual banquet. This award is presented to a Southeastern District High School whose players and coaches conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner to officials, opponents, and teammates; who display modesty in victory and graciousness in defeat.
Matt Orin former NHS graduate presented the award to coaches Dave Frantz and Chris Enz. Arlene Newman, Bill's wife was on hand to congratulate them.
