Northwest Local Schools District News
Welcome to Northwest Local School, Home of the Mohawks "Preparing students to meet the academic, social, civic and career needs for a global society."
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month and we have several students in our district that have either had cancer or are currently under going treatment. You can show your support by ordering a t-shirt. Let's make September as big of an awareness month as pink October. Orders are due Friday, September 11th. The shirts will be heather royal with gold and white writing. You can make checks payable to "Cole's Pit Crew."
Money may be given to JB Koch at the middle school, Amy Koch or Tracy Adkins at the elementary, and Bill Crabtree at the high school.

Saturday, September 5, NHS senior Whitney Jenkins will represent the Mohawks in the annual River Days festivities. The parade will be held at 11:00 a.m. starting from the stadium, near Jackson Street. There have been many friends and family helping Whitney put together an awesome float. The theme for this year's float was the Portsmouth murals. Whitney chose to do a combination of several, you won't want to miss seeing her rolling down the parade route this year! So come and support her at Saturday's parade. You will be proud to be a mohawk for sure! Saturday evening Whitney will be competing in the Miss River Days pageant.
Whitney has been busy preparing for River Days since early last Spring, raising money, practicing for the pageant, building a float, putting on an event to raise awareness for her platform which was STEM 4 KIDZ and attending all events hosted by the other contestants. So let's come out and show her our appreciation for all her hard work.
"Good Luck" Whitney!
