Board of Education Special Session
The Board of Education will meet in special session on Saturday, September 23rd to consider the resignation of a board member.
The meeting will be held at 9am in the administrative office.
Graduation
The 59th annual commencement exercise for Northwest High School was held on Sunday, May 21, 2017 in the NHS gymnasium. The Invocation was given by senior ANDREW WILLIAM BARTEE. Senior’s ALEXANDRIA MARIE LAYNE, NICHOLE ELIZABETH NORMAN and JESSE WENDELL ROE, lead  the Pledge Of Allegiance.

District Superintendent, Dr. Dana Pollock addressed the Class of 2017.

Our Athletic Boosters Club sponsors the Cable-Rachford Award. The awards are bestowed upon a senior boy and a senior girl that have displayed characteristics of hard work, compassion,character, and respect for others. These traits were exhibited by two former students that were lost to us in automobile accidents in the school year 1992-1993.

This year’s recipients were ALYSA ROBINSON AND AUSTIN JENKINS. 

Mr. Boyer presented the The Justin Seth Ralstin award to TAYLOR SHAE PATTY.

Memorial Scholarship award is bestowed upon a senior boy or senior girl who has displayed strong characteristics in the school and in our community with a desire to earn their degree at the college level. Seth was lost to us in an automobile accident in the school year 1999-2000.

Mr. Frantz  presented the Michael Orban Award to AUSTIN JENKINS.

Michael left us in October 2006. Michael was an outstanding young man who was always there for Everyone who needed him. He was an awesome believer not only in his faith, but in His school and community.

The Sean Miller Scholarship was presented to ALEXIS PHIPPS. Sean was a 2006 graduate of Northwest High School and was attending Shawnee State when he died of a motorcycle accident in 2007. His parents choose to honor Sean’s memory by helping other Northwest Graduates to attend college.

Mr. Enz presented The Roby BachvMemorial Scholarship to TAYLOR SHAE PATTY. 

The Roby Bach Memorial Scholarship was created in honor of  Mr. Roby Bach who passed away on Christmas morning of 2015. Mr. Bach served the Northwest district as a teacher, administrator, and volunteer for most of  his life. In order to be considered for this award, college bound students must demonstrate a high level of academic achievement, be involved with extracurricular activities, and serve their community in a positive manner. 

Senior Class President, TAYLOR ABIGAIL BARLOW daughter Of John and Candance Barlow addressed the Class of 2017.

The first Valedictorian address was by AARON MATTHEW BAPST son of Rodney and Joann Bapst.

The second Valedictorian address was by GRACE CATHERINE HOBBS, daughter of Jody and Angela Hobbs.

The third Valedictorian address was by COURTNEY PAIGE HOWARD daughter of Bryan Howard and Amanda Puckett and granddaughter of Richard and Susan Howard.

The fourth Valedictorian address was by VICTORIA PAIGE VASTINE daughter of David and Angela Vastine.

Our Salutatorian address was given by ALYSA DAWN ROBINSON daughter of Charles and Samantha Robinson.

At this time we will have the presentation of class, Mr. Burton please come forward.

Mr. Burton presented the Class of 2017  led by Jr. Marshall’s Ali Lacy and Kaitlin Lawson. Diplomas were presented to each member of the Class of 2017 by Mr. Scarberry.

Seniors were then instructed to move their tassels to the left to signify that they are now graduates of NHS.

The Benediction was given by senior HOPE ILA LINDA SHEPHERD.
