College Goal Saturday
New Annual Event
Despite
the inclement, wintry weather, 15 families attended College Goal
Saturday. Families were able to file their FAFSA forms electronically
in the warm and toasty confines of the computer lab at NHS on
Saturday, Jan 30th. Parents were greeted with donuts, coffee,
fruit, and juice, and Charlotte Hardy, from the Office of Financial
Aid at Shawnee State University, walked parents through the online
filing process. In less than an hour, parents and students received
their FAFSA PIN numbers, filed & printed their confirmations,
and received their expected family contribution in order to determine
their grant eligibility. Full

Parents Who Host Lose The Most
Northwest PRIDE Team, for Red Ribbon Week, will be passing
out informational flyers to parents. Often alcohol is involved
in teenage parties. Parents think that hosting their teenager's
parties in the home will keep them out of trouble. What
parents don't understand is that you can be prosecuted.
Visit www.DrugFreeActionAlliance.org
for more details. You can also visit The
Counseling Center for additional help.
