Kindergarten Registration
We need your help getting students registered for Kindergarten next
year. Right now, we only have 42 students (that doesn't include
students coming from our preschool classes) signed up for Kindergarten
screenings so far this year. We will have one final Kindergarten
registration day before the mandatory screenings. Parents/guardians
can stop by Northwest Elementary School during the school day from
9:30 am - 3:00 pm and 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm on MAY 8th. If parents cannot
attend registration, they must make an appointment with the NES
Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Shannon, ASAP. (Call 259-2250 ext. 3318).
Please spread the word anyway you can! Tell people in the community,
at your church, at ballgames, at school functions, post it on your
Facebook or Twitter account! A flyer is even attached, so you can
print off and distribute or post in a high traffic area if you would
like. You can even copy and paste the following to your page if
you so choose:

Upcoming Author Visit
Northwest Elementary is pleased to announce that we will be hosting
an author visit Friday, May 11th! The author, Connie Wooldridge,
is an experienced speaker and presenter who enjoys sharing her passion
for writing and her experience as a writer with readers and writers
of all ages. The title of her presentation is What It Takes to Become
a Published Writer.
Students will have the opportunity to purchase two of her books:
Just Fine the Way They Are and The Brave Escape of Edith Wharton.
Both books are hard copy editions and will be signed by the author.
Currently, we are in the process of estimating how many books we
will need to order. If you are interested in ordering one or both
of these books, please fill out the
form. The money is NOT due at this time. We will send home another
order form in the near future that will require payment for the
