I am in charge of Middle School Girls’ Track.

I have been teaching for 13 years.

did you teach?
first grade at Jasper Elementary for 2 years directly after college.
Where did you attend college and which degree(s) do you have?
I attended Ohio State University. I have the following degrees: Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Development (BS), Masters in Education (MEd), and PhD in Language, Literacy, and Culture.
In high school what activities/sports were you involved in?
I was in the band for 4 years, cheered for 3 years, ran cross country 1 year, and played volleyball 1 year.
Did you work prior to becoming a teacher? If so, where, for how long?
I was a babysitter in college.
Do you have another job after school or in the summer?
No, since I work most of the summer at school. I enjoy every free day I have in the summer.
What did you always want to be when growing up?
I toyed around with being a dietitian at one time. However, I traveled to work with my mom and dad in the summers when I was young. I always thought in the back of my mind that I would probably be a teacher or librarian. My dream job though would be to own a children’s book store someday.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy running, shopping, traveling, spending time with my husband, family, and my dogs.
What do you like most about Northwest?
We are all a big family and look out for one another.
What advice do you want to give to your students?
Sit in the front of the class and always ask lots of questions.
