What extra-curricular activities are you in charge of?

I am in charge of High School Girls and Boys Cross Country as well as Middle School Boys Track.

I have been teaching for 1 year.

Have you taught at any other schools? If so, where did you teach and which subject(s) did you teach?

No, this is the first school that I have taught at.

Where did you attend college and which degree(s) do you have?

I attended college at Shawnee State University and I earned a Bachelor’s of Science with a concentration in High School Mathematics.

In high school what activities/sports were you involved in?

I was involved in Cross Country, Track, FFA, Yearbook, Key Club, Honor Society, and a few other clubs.

Did you work prior to becoming a teacher? If so, where and for how long?

Teaching became my first full time job.

Do you have another job after school or in the summer?

In high school I worked as a summer janitor for my school, and after I graduated I started working as a carpenter each summer.

What did you always want to be when growing up?

For a long time growing up I wanted to be a cowboy, but for some reason that never panned out.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

In my free time I enjoy running, working out, and playing cards. Euchre is my favorite card game.

What do you like most about Northwest?

The thing that I like the most about Northwest is the staff and the students. I have felt welcome since my first day on staff.

What advice do you want to give to your students?

The best advice that I can give a student is to work hard to achieve your goals. Life can be tough and the best way to be successful in and out of school is to work hard and be positive about the opportunities that you are given.

What are your favorite website links for your students?

Some of my favorite links are IXL and YouTube. IXL gives the students chances to work on an endless amount of problems related to class and YouTube allows the students to have hundreds of math tutorials and different explanations on concepts. Having websites like this give the students an advantage that no other generation has had.
